Claim Support Assistant I - The Auto Club Group/Fremont

What you will do:

The Auto Club Group is seeking prospectiveClaim Support Assistant Iwho provide support to the Claims department by completing intermediate level tasks that require a basic understanding of the claim or functional business concepts and processes, and the organization and workflow for one or more Claims lines of business.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work under limited supervision to complete a set of related tasks in order to accomplish an objective.
  • Interpret facts in a Claims-oriented context in order to assign claims on a rotation basis.
  • Resolve assignment conflicts and issues as needed.
  • Interact with adjusters and vendors to obtain and correct identification information and validate information with the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Maintain and coordinate vendor information in multiple Claims systems.
  • Review, identify and resolve potential vendor duplicates and omissions.
  • Process claims payments
  • Handle intermediate general inquiry calls for routing.
  • May be assigned tasks normally handled by the Claim Support Staff or Claims Support Assistant II when necessary.

We're looking for candidates who:

Education:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Completion of ACG approved training program for the position

Experience in:

  • Working with P.C. software applications
  • Maintaining accurate files and records
  • Identifying and resolving problems

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of:

  • Claim processing functions
  • Claim processing system

Ability to:

  • Work under limited supervision
  • Demonstrate compliance to specific instructions
  • Work well under pressure
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Prepare claim vendor files
  • Communicate effectively with employees, vendors and customers over the telephone and in person
  • Use basic math skills
  • Use vendor processing and computer systems
  • Review vendor files and resolve duplication issues

Work Environment

  • This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come in to an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or teambuilding events.
