This position primarily coordinates and manages the sale/development of excess property, as well as managing extensions of the parking lots. In addition, this position will be involved in property acquisition on an as needed basis.

*Hybrid Schedule offered: Monday-Wednesday in-office, Thursday-Friday flexible/remote days.*

What You'll be Doing:

  • Travel to required market areas for the performance of due diligence activities, including but not limited to, identifying market conditions, prospecting, property valuation, performance of marketing initiatives, municipal engagement, etc.
  • Prepare, recommend and implement a transaction strategy (inclusive of marketing) for selling of excess property.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with well-respected end users and development companies that align with the Meijer brand.
  • Provide ongoing management of real estate transaction activities (both purchase and sale) on behalf of Meijer.
  • Obtain government approvals required to assist internal customers and perspective buyers throughout buy/sell transactions.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple acquisition and sale projects.
  • Oversee the maintenance and general appearance requirements of out lots and excess properties, both within Meijer inventory and sold parcels.
  • Manage extensions of store parking lots (i.e. carpool sites, bus stops, etc.).
  • Some property acquisition as needed.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree required or commensurate real estate experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate site acquisition.
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, written and communicative skills.
  • Must possess demonstrated judgment, project management, business acumen, interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines to meet goals.
  • Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Travel required.
