Aqua is currently hiring Engineer Interns for 12 weeks to start mid-May through August. We are seeking Engineering students who have an interest and passion for our industry and mission of protecting and providing Earth's most essential resource.

The engineering internship will provide an overview of the exciting opportunities available to engineers in the water/wastewater industry. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to see how Aqua supports SEPA communities and provides resiliency and sustainability. They will be involved in various engineering, operations, and construction projects with a team of water & wastewater engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an engineer.

  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations.

  • Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions.

  • Shop drawing review of vertical and horizontal capital construction projects

  • Prepare/update basic drawings, visual aids, maps and tabular information.

  • Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned, including assorted field work

  • Pay Rate $15.00/ hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Must major in engineering ( civil, environmental, mechanical, water/wastewater)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with computers & work systems such as Microsoft office, Excel, and Powerpoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (clearly, concisely, and professionally) with internal staff, consultants, municipalities and regulators.

  • Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedules

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-fostered, multi-tasking environment

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Perform sedentary work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

  • Field work using a company car will be required at times.
