Position Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing and providing strategic direction for the engineering department. Their duties include hiring and training qualified engineering staff, setting project budgets, priorities, and timelines for completion, as well as coaching and developing engineering staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safety is the top priority. Adheres to all company and regulatory EH&S & 6S policies and procedures and helps ensure all employees are working in a safe manner.
  • Identify potential safety and 6S issues and offer suggestions to eliminate and/or mitigate process risk.
  • Demonstrate personal integrity and the ability to conduct themselves and their job responsibilities in accordance with PCC's Code of Conduct.
  • Motivate, direct, and coach engineering team.
  • Champion and implement technology for factory automation, data collection and analytics, and streamlined production process.
  • Establish strategic plan and identify opportunities for optimizing overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Develop a standard process for new equipment installations and equipment upgrades.
  • Institute criteria for maintenance budget and critical spare inventory requirements.
  • Drive process evaluation and improvement projects related to yield improvement, scrap reduction, and cost take out.
  • Manage capital budget, project scoping, approval, and implementation.
  • Assist in equipment troubleshooting and root cause investigations of significant down time events, striving for a zero-defect process.
  • Establish and implement process control strategy for critical equipment and processes.

Minimum Education and Experience

Four-year degree in engineering or related field of study, and a minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. A minimum of 5 years of experience with leading and coaching a team of engineers.

Preferred Experience

Experience with implementing significant process changes and improvements.

Automation implementation.

  • Highly competent in Microsoft and other computer applications for information and data management, basic understanding of PLC programming.
