As the Manager of Data Platform Core Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and functionality of our enterprise data platform's core foundation. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $75,000-$165,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:This is What You Will do in This Role:
Lead the architectural design and development of the core components of our enterprise data platform.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and drive innovation.
Own the data platform core stack, including data storage, processing, orchestration, and integration components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and analysts, to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.
Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within the platform.
Drive continuous improvement and optimization efforts to enhance the platform's performance and capabilities.
Manage offshore engineers in India, adjusting your schedule to accommodate time differences and ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
Bring at least 5 years of leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire engineering teams towards achieving strategic objectives.
Possess a total of 10 years of data platform experience, including hands-on experience in distributed architecture and microservices development.
Show proficiency in cloud data platforms and experience in setting up operational excellence practices to ensure efficient and reliable platform operations.
What We are Looking For:
Proven experience of 10+ years in data platform engineering, with a strong understanding of data architecture, data processing, orchestration, and integration.
Solid expertise in cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience with data technologies like BigQuery, Spark, Kafka.
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, and experience with data querying languages (SQL, NoSQL).
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading high-performing engineering teams.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Experience in data governance, security, and compliance practices is a plus.
