Seeking a manager for MLOps team which will grow significantly. This person will build the team and the processes to support organization's growth in AI/ML maturity. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $75,000.00 - $165,000.00 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

* Manage a team of software/DevOps engineers working on MLOps/DevOps/Data pipelines.

* Own end-to-end responsibility for understanding, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines within MLOps.

* Work with external stakeholders (AI/ML team, other engineering groups, etc) to plan work.

* Support the ML development teams on a daily basis and plan work based on their needs.

* Mentor, coach, and evaluate direct reports performance and provide constructive feedback.

* Define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness.

* Develop and improve training and onboarding materials to facilitate getting the team up to speed quickly.

* Develop and improve standard processes that apply to MLOps.

* Provide technical support and guidance for team members.

* Responsible for team buildup and personnel management, including interviewing candidates, hiring, and other essential management responsibilities.

* Responsible for identifying and then automating collection, documentation and reporting on MLOps metrics.

* Learn and apply new MLOps tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.

* Experience leading team of software/DevOps Engineers to build CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML features/models testing, validation, deployment in test and production environments, monitor performance, and retrain models.

* Good knowledge of current AI and ML technologies and concepts.

* Good knowledge of data engineering domain.

* Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab runners etc.

* Experience with at least one of the major cloud providers, GCP, Azure, AWS; GCP preferred.

* 2+ years managing software teams is preferred. Experience managing DevOps/MLOps team is a plus.

* Experience with data pipelines tools and best practices and architectures for high volume/velocity/variety ingestion/storage.

* Familiarity with data streaming and batching, and tools such as Kafka, Spark, Apache Iceberg, Apache Airflow or similar technologies.

* Good understanding of big data concepts, such as data lakes, caching, SQL/No SQL.

* Good understanding of security requirements and controls for MLOps activities.

* Experience working with logistics or industrial automation is preferred but not required.

* Strong software development background.

* Strong understanding of SDLC/AGILE development practices and SCRUM framework.

* Good communication skills

* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to remain calm in tense situations
