Job Description
Dematic is seeking a Senior Accountant, focused on project-based Percentage of Completion (POC) Method accounting for the North America region. This role will have responsibility for analyzing, processing, and communicating project results and maintaining strong accounting controls around the revenue recognition process. In addition, this role will have responsibility to assist with change management during an ERP system transition.

A successful candidate should demonstrate career progression with relevant experience in corporate finance and/or public accounting. The candidate should also be comfortable communicating at an executive level, as well as taking a hands-on approach to their daily responsibilities. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting, with exposure to cross functional leadership, including executives.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be$82,000-$166,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What You Will do in This Role:

  • Execute month-end close activities, including journal entry and account reconciliation preparation
  • Research and communicate any discrepancies that may arise
  • Process and communicate project results timely throughout the month and at month-end
  • Maintain appropriate level of documentation to ensure all account balances, entries, and reconciliations are supported properly
  • Focus on process improvements and timely revenue and project financial reporting
  • Implement and support accounting policies/guidelines and process documentation
  • Support external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual IFRS audit
  • Assist with preparing/ delivering quarterly balance sheet reviews to Regional CFO
  • Support parent company and global IFRS financial reporting requirements
  • Serve as admin for both SAP (WBS structure and project close out) as well as Blackline (reconciliation and task list module)
  • Special projects as needed

What We are Looking For:

  • Bachelor-level degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy along with strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills
  • Ability to balance complex demands with a strong sense of urgency and prioritization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to quickly adapt to other specialized software applications
  • Self-motivated and eager to take the initiative; with the ability to work effectively in a team setting and as an individual
  • SAP or similar ERP system experience preferred
  • POC accounting knowledge preferred
