Job Summary
Fishbeck has an exciting opportunity for a creative and talented Landscape Architect based in one of our Michigan Offices. The qualified applicant will work with the Civil/Site Development group with opportunity to assist with Landscape Design and Planning for several departments including Civil, Architectural, Brownfield Remediation, and Transportation. Individual will be working in multi-disciplinary environment and assisting with projects from conception to construction.

Responsibilities
  • Produce conceptual and illustrative drawings.
  • Site planning and master planning.
  • Landscape Architecture including Hardscape and Softscape designs, planting selection and irrigation coordination.
  • Project representation at municipality levels.
  • Research, writing, interpreting zoning ordinances.
  • Interact daily with multi-disciplinary and multi-office teams within Fishbeck, providing insight and guidance to engineers for land development and site designs.
  • Concept plans for Brownfield Redevelopment projects and grant applications.
  • Landscape plans for MDOT pre-qualification project assignments.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Exposed to occasional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and maneuvering around project sites for attending client and project meetings and site observations. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.

Desired Skills/Experience
  • 10 years relevant experience in landscape architecture.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect
  • Experience with Higher Education Campuses is preferred
  • Knowledge of other disciplines beyond landscape architecture/urban design, such as civil/structural engineering, water resources, and ecosystem restoration.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and 2D/3D Graphic Rendering Software and ability to hand sketch conceptual plans.
  • Experience with marketing and sales of new clients, coordination and production of proposals, and participation in presentations is a plus!
  • Experience in business development and fostering client relationships is a plus!
