Reports To: Weld/Weld Prep Team Lead-Ryan De Roo

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation: Hourly

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to Fabricate and Weld steel parts according to blueprint specifications. Welders are called to use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products
  2. Follow blueprints to meet product specifications
  3. Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
  4. Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance
  5. Assemble and weld structures, sub-assemblies and be responsible for filing, burring and welding
  6. Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  7. Work in a team environment to achieve quality and quantity according to customer needs
  8. Maintain a clean and safe work space
  9. Safely operate all equipment
  10. Operate and maintain a MIG welder without supervision
  11. Perform other duties as assigned

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Experienced or technical training as a structural welder with the ability to join, fabricate and weld metal tube and pipe


Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

Qualifications

Other Requirements

  1. Ability to perform MIG welding thin gauge, mild steel and other weld-able material by applying appropriate welding techniques
  2. Able to read and understand a tape measure, weld symbols and welding gauges
  3. Must be able to interpret blueprint specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine and apply appropriate welding processes
  4. Fabrication abilities
  5. Able to MIG Weld
  6. Ability to recognize and perform to AWS standards
