Job Description

Job Summary

Provides interpretation and translation services for deaf, or hard of hearing patients and their families/caregivers, and employees in accordance with Corewell Health and departmental policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures appropriate interpretation, transliterating and language access services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing patients and employees.

  • Provides interpreting and transliterating services in accordance with Corewell Health policies and procedures and the National Council on Interpreters In Health Care (NCIHC) Code of Ethics governing the profession of interpretation.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an Interpreting/Transliterating Degree Program providing interpreting services in a health care setting
  • CRT-Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), Certified - NAD National Association of the Deaf
  • LIC-Driver's License - State of Michigan
  • CRT-Auto Insurance
