Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Building Automation Systems Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete documents on schedule
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position
  • Leading I&C design teams to produce deliverable packages for several concurrent projects - including: writes/edits instrumentation and controls specifications, selects instrumentation, develops sequence of operations, create I&C drawings.
  • Coordinating the work of the I&C Engineers with the balance of a multi-disciplined team throughout a project's development and construction - including: power coordination, panel locations, remote equipment monitoring, integration to 3rd party systems, and device locations.
  • Tracking the financial aspects of projects, coordinating, and adjusting the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within budget.
  • Conducting schematic, design development and contract document working sessions with clients.
  • Establishing and maintaining client relationships, participate in marketing, design and production meetings with regard to instrumentation and controls systems.
  • Acting as a mentor for junior staff members.
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering required.
  • PE license required
  • 5 years experience in instrumentation and controls is required.
  • Possess a strong fundamental understanding of HVAC control applications.
  • Strong leadership skills desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering, engineering consulting firm, or BMS contractor desired.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.

The expected compensation range for this position is $75,691.00 - $108,130.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
