As a SawOperatoryou will assist in preparing and expanding to meet specifications; die punching, slotting, and packing. Duties may include operating a saw, press, oven or assisting in numerous manual functions to prepare orders for shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Startup/verify secondary equipment (vacuum blower, dust collector) is operating.
  2. Check schedule to determine next order to process.
  3. Read work order instructions and process specifications.
  4. Use overhead crane to load/unload Aramid blocks from saw table.
  5. Set up and run horizontal band saw to cut slices to specified thickness.
  6. Change saw blades and guides using small hand tools.
  7. Iron backing material onto blocks.
  8. Measure blocks and slices using tape measure and micrometer.
  9. Load slices into clean core machine to remove dust and measure slice thickness.
  10. Print label and tag individual slices.
  11. Inspect blocks and slices for quality issues.
  12. Complete associated paperwork.
  13. Enter process and work order information into computer system to maintain accurate records.
  14. Monitor equipment and make setup adjustments as necessary.
  15. Communicate with management representatives regarding any material or equipment concerns.
  16. Record production and scrap information on team board charts.
  17. Maintain an inventory of supplies. Notify supervisor when re-order level is reached.
  18. Assist in performing quarterly inventory checks.
  19. Assist other departments as necessary.
  20. Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery by being efficient, productive, and careful.
  21. Actively participate in improving our product, processes, equipment and methods.
  22. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times including waste/scrap removal and cleanup of equipment.
  23. Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work overtime

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR Regulations. Therefore, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident ('Green Card').
